[Known Defect] Applications launch but do not appear due to shared fonts

Issue

Certain apps e.g. the Autodesk building design suite and Solidworks do not launch after virtualization. Task Manager shows the main executable is running but the application does not appear. 

Error Message

Cloudpaging Player log file

Error: (APM_E_APP_CONFIG_INSTALL_FONT) Failed to install SHARED fonts for app

Root cause

This error is generated when Cloudpaging Player attempts to find the path to the "?fonts?" folder in Windows 11. This action is blocked by Windows 11 which then causes the virtualization to freeze.

Workaround

Option 1

Use one of the methods from Packaging Fonts - Advanced e.g.

1. Change "inject fonts for use by the application only" to  "Register fonts for current user" 
2. Exclude .SHX fonts

Option 2

1. Close the application in Cloudpaging Player
2. Click the launch button in Cloudpaging Player

Option 3

1. Use Cloudpaging Player < 9.3.1
